Just a small one

Published 1/30/2010 by Jason in News

Here at Elite Composites weve had quite a busy January. More posts about our new fibreglass projects will be coming thick and fast over Feburary.

The show off the success of the car wash station project, a new page has been added to show off the units. Both the main system, water storage and enclosure are all made with our high quality fibreglass moulding techniques. These are a great example of our engineering standards, and proving GRP can be used effectively in many different situations. Some images and more information can be found here; http://www.elitecomposites.co.uk/Projects/handson . More exciting projects are coming, 6 more coming over the next 2-3 months.

A few more images have also been added to the gallery showing off more GRP products manufactured by us. JP

Our fibreglass flume in the Blackpool water park "sand castles". Over the next few weeks more and more content will be come, especially as we are currently coming to the end of some very exciting projects in fibreglass. jp

Pushing forward

Published 12/18/2009 by Jason in News | Projects

Its been a good year at Elite Composites, and as we get closer to Christmas I thought it would be a good time to recap on the successes of the past 12 months. This is also a good opportunity to talk about some of the exciting projects currently in development, All things fibreglass, and some photo's of our engineered items.

This year has heralded big changes for Elite Composites. As well as pushing forward in our bespoke fibreglass technologies, we also moved our head office operations to the neighbouring town of Newhaven. This new design space is being redeveloped to showcase some of our bespoke glass fibre furniture, some of our GRP products, as well as provide a creative space for our designers. After Christmas, a new project page will be added with pictures of our great new bespoke fibreglass office and design studio.

Working with the Hands on Group, the first installation of our GRP car wash stations have been installed in a Sainsbury's supermarket in Leicester. Elite Composites were there onside to aid installation, and over see the first real life tests of the fibreglass systems. It turned out to be a very lucrative day for the car wash technicians, managing a high workload for a mid week winter day. The tests worked well, and the day was considered a great success by all involved. This project will be fully covered on our news blog as more nation wide installations are put in place to serve the public.

Our project working on the technology rich tables developed by Mindstorm, have just been installed in a youth centre in the Bahamas. The touch sensitive tables allow for users to directly interact with on-screen graphics. Elite Composites employed its experience in custom furniture to provide the external GRP for the systems, as well as helping with design and engineering needed for the construction of the base and foot rail. The high quality finish really dazzles, and we look forward to continuing our working partnership with Mindstorm on the Vortex, as well as new future projects. Meeting the new demand of what ever they can think up next. Its thrilling to be on the edge of such an exciting industry.

As you can see we have been constantly pushing for what can be achieved in GRP, nothing is impossible and as we drive for quality with all our projects. ill try and post a few more times with more information on other exciting projects currently nearing completion. JP

Back in 2008 we were commissioned to take on a project in Forest Green London to create some stone effect cladding for an entire block of houses. A set of pictures have been placed on the page, that all are welcome to look through.

Unfortunately google maps street view only has a view of the project in progress so nothing can be seen behind the plastic sheeting. If your interested, or live in the area, its worth going for a look because the quality of the GRP is indistinguishable from real stone, even from up close. More projects are currently nearing completion, such as "Hands on" (Heroes) car wash stations, Mindstorm's interactive table "The Vortex", Office Pods, plus we have a multitude of older projects that will be added over the next few weeks up until Christmas.

The product page for our work on the BBC media globe London has been updated. A new collection of our GRP products and installation photo's have been placed on the site and are available to view right now. To view the images of our GRP for The BBC click this sentence. All of our project pages are going to be updated constantly all the way up to Christmas, so keep you eyes open for new media.

3 years on since the installation of our very unique Composite Beach huts. They have superbly withstood the harsh Seaford waves, spray and winds, which is a testament to the engineering involved in the construction. The beach huts have created an iconic look which frames the seafront in Seaford wonderfully. Because of this resounding success, and the appeal of the huts we have decided to start selling them to the public. We are currently in discussions with a leading beach hut consumer advice site in an effort to refine the design and features to make them even better. Hopefully, for the next spring season we are going to be fully up and running ready for the market with colour choices and style options. At Elite composites we believe that this method of manufacture is the way forward for beach huts, and we are proud to push this part of British heritage forward.

Dorchester canopy completed

Published 10/15/2009 by Jason in Projects

Work for the world famous Dorchester hotel in London's Park lane has been finished. We carefully recreated the old canopy respectfully in GRP maintaining its original classic Art Deco styling. The finish of our engineered canopy catches the light perfectly,  In line with our older projects for the Dorchester, who we have maintained a relationship for years, this fits in perfectly to the chic styling of the hotel, allowing it to last all the longer in style. Over the next week we will be building a project page to explain the processes and services employed on this project. Images are coming, we are hoping for a professional selection of snaps to show it off well in the winter sun
