Project Management
We like to keep our customers fully up to date with the manufacture of their order and to achieve this Elite Composites offers a project management service. This includes:
- Project plans produced using the latest version of Microsoft Project
- Agreed project updates.
- Digital photographs to support manufacture progression
- Provision of Electronic project reports and photographs
Hand-Lay
Hand-Lay is the lamination of Fibreglass and resin to the required thickness by hand.
Spray-Lay
Spray-Lay is the lamination of glass and fibre with the aid of a chopper gun to speed up the process. The GRP is then hand rolled. This is a fast method used in the production of large moulds.

Carbon Fibre
The use of carbon fibre rather than glass produces a very light and strong material. This is used where light weight and strength are essential. In addition to it's well documented use in aeroplanes and racing cars this material is being used more and more in high performance sporting equipment in everything from bicycles to golf clubs. This material is either hand layed or sheets of prepared carbon fibre and resin are used.
Fire Resistant Phenolic Mouldings
Some products need to be highly resistant to fire, smoke, the spread of flames and high temperatures. Because Phenolic materials have remarkable performance in this area they are used, amongst other things, as a construction material in aeroplanes and for panels and seats in cars. Phenolic mouldings are invaluable in helping manufacturers to meet ever more stringent health and safety concerns.
Elite Composites manufacture Fire Resistant Phenolic Mouldings to the highest standards. Our large capacity curing oven has allowed the company to under take the manufacture of a whole raft of fire resistant mouldings for different customers including the MOD and the automotive industry.
Solid Surface Casting
Solid surface casting is used to produce granite effect finishes. Polymer chips are suspended in resin to produce the required effect.
Vacuum
Sealing the layed out resin and fibre in a vacuum bag, squeezes the air from the composite material and gives more strength.
CAD Design
In cad design, computer automated drawing is used to facilitate design.
Pattern Making
Pattern making is the production of a wooden pattern for the mould.
Mould Making
Moulds are made in GRP and then used in production. A chemical layer seperates the mould from the article being manufactured.
